Experience soccer without the pressure in the Pleasant Dale Park District 5th–8th Grade Youth Soccer League! Designed for middle school athletes of all skill levels, this recreational program provides a fun, active, and flexible alternative to more intense club soccer options—perfect for players who want to enjoy the game, stay involved with friends, or continue their soccer journey alongside other interests.

While games are naturally competitive and energetic—it is middle school soccer, after all—the primary focus is on participation, development, and enjoyment rather than winning at all costs. Volunteer parent coaches help players build confidence, improve technical skills, learn game concepts, and explore multiple positions in a supportive environment. Team size and the number of players on the field may adjust based on enrollment, ensuring balanced games and plenty of playing time for everyone.

This league is an excellent fit for athletes who love soccer but may be focused on other sports, are looking for a more relaxed supplemental league to club ball, and those who may not plan to play in high school. It’s also a welcoming entry point for newcomers looking to learn the game without the pressure of daily practices and major tournaments.

Fall Soccer registration deadline is Sunday, July 12th. Registrations taken after this date will be charged a $20 late registration fee, will be responsible for procuring their own league jersey (See notes below), and will not be granted a buddy request.

We are unable to accept requests for practice days/times and/or specific coaches on any registrations. After team rosters are assembled, each team will be assigned to a specific practice time based on volunteer coach preferences. Practices will be on weeknights between 4-8pm. Players that cannot attend their scheduled practice will not be moved to another team. Players that cannot attend their scheduled practice will be offered the opportunity to practice with another team at a more convenient time and will still play games on Saturdays with their original team.
